Fetish After Dark as ALWAYS had a theme for our parties. Lots of people have showed up and asked us why we do that. Partially, it's to give Kass a suggestion on what to put on the posters (we don't want them all to look the same), but mostly it's to allow us to have a reason to dress up. We want people to come out in their finest and really make an effort at our events.

For years, Castle McCulloch's Mardi Gras, Beer and Fear, and most recently successful Fantasy Fetish Friday events had a lot of people who just showed up in jeans and t-shirts without any effort. It didn't ruin anything, but it was always showed that there were folks who just wanted to show up and watch without bringing anything to the show. A few years ago, the General Manager pushed to make masks mandatory, and the whole event changed. It really pushed people to care to dress up and set the tone of the event. It really elevated the event to an erotic display that is enjoyable.

So, we've got some costume suggestions for those of you who are coming and for those who are wanting to step up your game:

  • Formal-wear: As Lefty LeBlue says, "a good suit is a guy's version of lingerie". A tuxedo works, but any formal wear always makes a statement. The little black dress never goes out of style and looks great with a black domino mask.

  • Fetish-wear: Of course sexy straps, leather vests, and other kinky gear are hot. It's always a sexy choice and makes a statement.

  • Lingerie: It's going to be chilly that evening, but nothing is hotter than full lingerie under a long coat.

  • Sexy Costumes: It's a bit out of season to get them (though any lingerie shop has some for you), but if you and your partner or friends want to get together and set a theme, it will make it easier to find each other. Other than being hot, it makes you a matched set.

  • Renfair/Goth/Steampunk-wear: Get out your inner vampire or Victorian rogue. There's a reason Bridgerton is popular. Those outfits are hot and make a statement and a kilt never goes out of style. Just ask Mr. McSpanky

  • Cosplay: We've seen some super hot characters from anime and video-games. If you're the kind of nerd with a closet full of costumes, bring it!

  • Club-wear: Always a classic choice, this clothing is made for this kind of event. While costumes might be a little seasonal in their selection, club wear is year round.

  • Anything that you find sexy (that you can wear in public): Confidence is hot. So, if you've got something you know you look good wearing, that will increase that confidence. Maybe it's just a special set of boots, a nice shirt that fits well, or a bustier but anything that makes you feel hot is good.

What you don't want to wear: Anything that makes you boring. Don't just be part of the crowd, but make a statement. Don't see jeans and a t-shirt as a safe choice, because it's just a boring choice.

Whatever you wear, we look forward to seeing you there. We'll be bringing the thunder behind the castle on the big patio.
